Replacement of Fans at a Waste Incineration Plant in Dublin, Ireland

HLI was engaged to carry out the replacement operation of two industrial fan types, WP2 and WP7, at a waste incineration plant in Dublin. The team’s task was to develop the replacement methodology and to design and operate dedicated horizontal and vertical transport systems, enabling the safe movement of the equipment within the existing facility.

Scope of Work

  • 2 WP2 fans weighing approximately 10 tonnes each,
  • 2 WP7 fans weighing approximately 45 tonnes each,
  • Development of the fan dismantling and installation methodology,
  • Design of dedicated support and transport structures,
  • Structural strength analyses of the structures used,
  • Planning of horizontal and vertical transport,
  • Supply, installation and operation of specialised transport systems,
  • Technical supervision over the execution of the operation.
