HLI was commissioned to develop a solution enabling maintenance work on centrifugal dryers arranged in series. Due to their height and the relatively low positioning of the crane runway beams, standard overhead crane hoists could not remove a single unit without halting operations of neighboring dryers, which was unacceptable. After analyzing the problem, HLI proposed a design for a suspension frame mounted under the crane.
Scope of Works
- Weight of transported element: 1.5 tonnes,
- Design of vertical and horizontal transport concept,
- Design, supply, and installation of a specialized lifting frame (spreader/traverse),
- Provision of required mechanical hoists.

Step 1
The designed spreader beam is attached to the plant crane. The crane lifts the spreader to its highest point, then moves it over the dryer.

Step 2
The delivered chain hoists are attached to the upper part of the dryer.

Step 3
Using the mechanical hoists, the upper part of the dryer is lifted. The crane transports the upper part of the dryer to the service position.

Step 4
The mechanical hoists are raised, and the crane moves the spreader beam to the service position.

Step 5
The spreader beam is lowered to the ground. The system is prepared for the transport of the next dryer component.
