
HLI was asked to support the execution of a project involving the lifting of a mill shell in Nowiny. Due to the significant weight of the component, the operation represented a major technical challenge. Our task was to design and implement a vertical transport system enabling the safe and precise lifting and lowering of the mill shell.
Scope of work
- Total weight: 400 tons,
- Lifting height: approximately 1.2 m,
- Installation and reinstallation of the supplied system,
- Full service operation of the lifting and lowering system.


Step 1
Installation of the supporting structure under the mill roller.

Step 2
Pushing the mill roller using hydraulic cylinders.

Step 3
Positioning the supporting structure under the cradle and releasing the cylinders.

Step 4
Placing supports under the cylinders.

Step 5
Repeating the sequence of steps until the mill roller is lifted to a height of 1170 mm.
